FOR PROFESSIONALS AND COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS

A free, private memory space for families

DearMemory helps relatives, friends and carers collect familiar photographs, stories, voices, music and important people, then enjoy them together in a calm Memory Room.

What families can do

  • Create memories with photographs, written stories and familiar voices.
  • Connect people and memories through a visual Memory Map.
  • Use short Prepared Journeys and browser-based Read Aloud.
  • Invite trusted people with View only, Memory contributor or Family manager access.
  • Download individual memories or a complete private copy.

What DearMemory is not

  • Not a diagnostic, medical or emergency service.
  • Not a care plan, medication record or professional case-management system.
  • Not a public social network or public family profile.
  • Not a replacement for clinical advice, safeguarding procedures or local support.

How an organisation can help

Organisations may signpost families to DearMemory, share the introductory sheet, offer feedback on accessibility and suitability, or invite a short demonstration. An organisation does not need to manage a family’s account and should not ask a family to share a password.

DearMemory is free: the website and all of its services are free to use. There are no subscriptions, fees, paid features or payment details required.

Our support commitments

  • Support is reviewed regularly during UK working days, but it is not monitored continuously.
  • We aim to reply to ordinary enquiries within five working days. This is a target, not a guaranteed service level.
  • Privacy, security, accessibility and safeguarding concerns are prioritised.
  • We use plain language, never ask for a password and explain when more information is needed.
  • DearMemory is not an emergency route. Immediate danger or urgent health concerns must go to the appropriate emergency, health or local safeguarding service.

Trust and dignity

Families are encouraged to consider consent, privacy, emotional safety and the wishes of the person whose life is represented. Sensitive memories can be left out of journeys on a device, but human judgement always comes first.

Help us learn

Family members, carers and professionals can join the structured feedback programme. Responses are used to identify confusing language, accessibility barriers and features that need improvement.
