ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Accessibility at DearMemory

DearMemory is designed for people who may have changes in memory, vision, dexterity, confidence or concentration, and for the families and carers supporting them.

Our current approach

  • Large, readable text and clear contrast.
  • Plain, reassuring language and one main task at a time.
  • Large controls with visible keyboard focus.
  • Responsive layouts for phones, tablets and computers.
  • Still Memory Map items rather than distracting automatic movement.
  • Read Aloud where supported by the browser.
  • No essential information communicated by colour alone.

Known limitations

Read Aloud voices and pronunciation depend on the browser and device. Uploaded photographs may not always have a detailed description. Some older pages may still need further testing with different screen readers, browsers and combinations of text zoom.

DearMemory does not yet claim formal conformance with a particular accessibility standard. Accessibility is an ongoing programme rather than a one-time certificate.
